While testing the existing V1.1 board I am continuing the work on V1.2. The external connector was to big and also difficult to get off-the-shelf cables for that looks good. So, I opted for a 4-pin 3.5mm audio connector instead. With that there are cheaply available cables.
The WiFi module is unnecessary expensive. Basically all modules are only really expensive shield cans … Technically that is. If you do finished goods, they of course needs to be certified and pre-certified modules help there.
Well. And it is also much more fun doing it this way.
Ok. Maybe I did go a bit overboard with stitching the ground planes, but I played with the sticking function in Altium …
It will probably not be that in the finished product.
